Top 10 Laptops 2012

Top 10 Laptops

Buying a laptop these days is a pretty daunting task. The sheer number of laptops available online or in a store's electronics section is enough to make your mind spin. Almost all the brands claim that their device falls in top 10 laptops list. Most people have a general idea of what their laptop should look like and what they want in terms of features, but are often intimidated by the choices available. That's where we come in.

The first thing you need to consider is what you need in the laptop. Are you looking for something to compete on the gaming grid or with a discrete graphics card and big screen. Then there is price issue. If a business system is what you need, then security measures like a fingerprint reader and a TPM module are must-haves. For those who spend a lot of time on the road, then an ultrabook or an ultraportable will keep back and shoulder strain to a minimum. For some of you a system meant for watching movies, a Blu-ray player is a must-need feature. So as we can see different people have different need.

For this reason there are various sites which can give you the information about top 10 laptops in India.

HP's second-generation Envy laptops have been favorites of ours, combining sleek design, solid construction, and high-end components, all for a reasonable price. These laptops are among the top 10 laptops in India. The latest version of the Envy 17, one might call it generation 2.5, adds 3D capabilities. While the feature-packed Envy 17 includes a Blu-ray drive, both HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and a USB 3.0 port, the addition of 3D hardware and active-shutter glasses isn't as much fun as it could be. The new HP Envy 17 3D uses XpanD glasses with the TriDef 3D software we've seen on a handful of passive 3D laptops. One of the system's highlights is its big 1,920x1,080-pixel display. In 3D mode, the display stays bright and clear, but the 3D effect is particularly susceptible to problems with off-axis viewing.

For years, Dell's been teasing supermodel-thin laptops. With some initial failures it came up with a laptop without compromise. This is the Dell XPS 15z. This another device which figures in top 10 laptops in India. It is constructed of aluminum and magnesium alloy and carries some pretty peppy silicon inside. It comes with the usual array of mostly unobtrusive bloatware, including a trial subscription to Norton Antivirus, the token copies of Microsoft Office Starter and Roxio for your disc burning needs.

The Dell XPS 15z has an ultra-thin metal chassis, a beautiful 1080p display and a backlit keyboard. Add to that an Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce dedicated graphics for serious multimedia performance. The XPS 15z has an impressive variety of ports. Highlights include two USB 3.0 Super Speed ports, eSATA, mini-Display Port, HDMI, and despite being so thin, it also has an integrated optical drive.

Almost all of the PC manufacturers are offering up Ultrabooks or slim notebooks that can flip, detach, or swivel into tablet mode. They have under them some of the best laptops in India. Acer on this front figures are re pitching with the Iconia W510. It starts out looking like a fairly standard Windows 8 laptop, but as is the case with just about everything introduced at Computex 2012 that’s only one configuration. The touchscreen display can be detached and used like a standalone tablet, too. Acer made a smart design choice on the presentation front by outfitting the W510 with an anti-reflective display that offers solid viewing angles. Unfortunately, the matte display tops out at 1366×768 pixels. All those who are interested in this latest device are advised to check its full specs on Acer laptops price list.

In terms of gaming laptop, Acer has some of the high performing machines. Dedicated laptop graphics cards rarely live up to the performance level of their desktop counterparts, meaning that many so-called gaming laptops simply can't cut it on more modern games despite some lofty price-tags. The Acer Timeline Ultra M3 is one such laptop from them. This is one of the best laptops in India under this segment. On paper, it looks like a gaming combination that shouldn't really work. Acer has mixed an ultra-low voltage dual-core Sandy Bridge CPU in this case the i5 2467M running at a paltry 1.6GHz with a Kepler GT 640M. These Acer laptops came with a mere 4GB of DDR3 memory, while the graphics core possesses its own gigabyte of dedicated RAM. The Ultra M3 barely scrapes into the definition of what an Ultrabook is supposed to be by virtue of a 1.9cm overall thickness and adherence to other Intel mandates including low-voltage CPU and SSD support. For more detail consumers can get in touch with the Acer laptops price list.

Facing off against the Acer is the New Alienware M14x R4. These Acer laptops are Alienware's refresh of its M14x platform, principally boosted with the inclusion of Ivy Bridge Intel processors and support for Kepler and mSATA. With the ultra-slim M11x being left out of the most recent revision of Alienware's laptops, the M14x takes its place as the brand's de facto mobile platform. Where the larger, weightier laptops are being positioned as outright desktop PC replacements, the M14x sets out to strike a balance between size, weight and connectivity to better suit gaming on the commute. The M14x does a great many things right where the now-retired M11x struggled, simply due to it being housed in a larger chassis that facilitates higher-performance parts. Naturally, all these concessions are typical of netbook designs looking to maintain their petite form factor, but for an expensive, high-grade gaming laptop, these points ultimately compromise the user experience too greatly something the M14x's larger form factor and superior screen largely resolves. Their complete price details are available on Acer laptops price list.
